Marko
Anyone ever been in to the basin E of Colchuck Balanced and WNW of Enchantment Peak? Beckey shows a dotted line following the stream that joins Mountaineer Creek at the bridge about 1 1/2 miles up the trail. Thanks

Marko
Howdy Wayne! Nothing much, just looking to get out east where there's a bit less white stuff accumulated. Probably should just go skiing, eh? Cheers man, twoohsixfoursixfiveonefourthreetwo

Kyle_Flick
Marko, I've been wanting to get up into Hel Basin for awhile as well. I've enjoyed looking down into the upper basin from Colchuck Balanced Rock several times. Just have to figure out where to leave the Stuart Lake trail and head off to the east. Probably before the bridge is as good a place as any to start the bushwack.

pms
I've been up there a few times (summer and fall without snow). I left the trail right before the bridge, up some talus, and then thru a cliff band by traversing across right.
Marko
You the man Jim, thanks! Think skis would be utterly insane? I'm guessing slowshoes.
pms
what's wrong with insane? you can always throw them on your back for the traverse across the ledges. what's the coverage like over there? it sounds like there is new snow...
DirtyHarry
There's no compelling reason to bring snowshoes rather than skis. Their rarely is. If you don't have any good bourbon, bring scotch. Take pictures.
