I am going to be out in the area taking an avi class at AAI and was wondering if anyone is interested in making an attempt on Mt. Baker/Shuksan. I know it is a little far out given how drastic the snow conditions seem to change, but just wanted to get an idea if anyone is interested.

I have done Shucksan in March-----conditions are hit and miss-------really have to watch the avi risk and weather. I have been rained on after during a high snow year--had really scary avi conditions. The best winter route is poss the North face---easy access---fun climbing (ascent route is your descent route)----If you are a good skier you can also ski the North face.

Mt. Baker in March can be a long slog-----turn it into a backcountry ski trip----fun skiing off the top.

I live in Bend now so I am stuck skiing up the Sisters---not as exciting.
