ropegoat Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) Aside from what you think about tele, can anyone recommend crampons that work well with their tele boots? Edited January 17, 2009 by ropegoat Quote
Argus Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I use the old sabertooths and they work well since the toe bar is wide enough to go over the duckbill. Not sure if the newer ones are as wide. Quote
underworld Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 i've had G12's on tele boots... worked fine Quote
DirtyHarry Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 They make an adapter for tele boots which make crampons go on better, its called AT gear. Quote
EastCoastBastard Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I have a pair of Charlet Moser Blackice which work great. Petzl also makes a replacement bail for their crampons that fits with tele boots. I'd probably just bring your boots to a shop and try some crampons on them and see what fits. Happy tele-ing Quote
ClimbUp/SkiDown Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 A little late to the party I see, but the newer BD Sabertooth will in fact work with tele duck bills. I'm a switch hitter for both tele and AT and my Sabertooths (08 model) work on both boots. Quote
mattp Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I have used a bunch of different crampons with tele boots. Most work fine, though I didn't like the flexible crampons much. My ten year old Grivel Rambo's work well. Quote
