ivan Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 now that the winter's set in, has anyone been up there? i know they'd closed the trail after the fire, but w/ snow on the ground i can't see there being too much issue going up to the n side that way now - any tracks/blazes to follow? is the warming shelter open? Frikadeller Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 There are some blazes (blue diamonds) early on the trail from the Parking area. But from there, you should be able to see the cut of the trail in the trees, especially in the burn. Any of the old blazes that where are burnt away. Most likely you can just follow the skin track from all the other bozo's like my self that have been up there. Above the cabin, you should be able to just keep heading up hill until you break from from the trees. Stay away from heading too far south, because you will run into a very deep and steep polallie creek canyon. Once above the tree line everything else should be self evident. Bring a map and compass, and you'll find your way just fine. Quote
