olyclimber Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 is this a sought after record? not so much as a record, but just to do that trip at all. awesome. i would like to borrow the knees when Choad is done with them. great pics as usual, thank! Quote
pink Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 porter, ya got bad kness. it's a bad design. how come more people don't do it? i would guess because there is not a huge window and the whole ghey ass permit thing that washington has. Quote
pink Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 i heard the hubers are suiting up as we speak Quote
Jason_Martin Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 The person who did the traverse with Joe Stock in 15 hours and 40 minutes was Andrew Wexler. Andrew's mildly active on this website. He submitted a TR to cc.com on an ascent of the Cassin Ridge a few years ago. Jason Quote
ivan Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 i would guess because there is not a huge window and the whole ghey ass permit thing that washington has. there's no permit to do the pt - doing it in nice weather is preferred of course (though storms produce much kewler pix) so ya, august is pretty much a good month to go - josh and i enjoyed going against the flow, s to n, so we got to expereince the whole cross section of ptarmigan-types, from uberlight-johhny-speed-racers to gregory-denali-girlfriend-toting-phat-phucks - we encountered almost 20 folks in 5 days Quote
clintcummins Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Leor, Nice job and great report! Just wondering: are the split times from the EXIF data on your photos, or recorded on your watch (tiny GPS?)? Now that the apparent record time has been revealed, do you think it might be within your range? Would it go without an ice axe, or does that start getting pretty sketchy? [edited slightly to add "sketchy" and the question about split times] Quote
ivan Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Would it go without an ice axe? joshk went the whole time w/o an axe, despite having one on his back, which made my nervous as phuck on several occasions Quote
jcp Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Amazing feat, I don't care if it is a record or not. Hats off to both of you, and great work! Great pics as well, very impressive. Quote
