LMo Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I am going to be climbing mid September. What kind of conditions can I expect above Muir? Went up DC late June...just wondering what to look for. Thanks! Quote
Braydon Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 (edited) you probably already know this but you'll definatly have some problems navigating the crevasses... Edited August 4, 2008 by Braydon Quote
AlpineK Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I took an inexperienced climber up the DC route in a September back a few years ago. I recall a lot of crevasse negotiating problems from Muir going across the Cowlitz. It made a relatively easy route exciting. Quote
Braydon Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 wow, especially at 1am, route finding across the cowlitz would be an adventure. Quote
jmo Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I was there last night, and the bootpack on the Cowlitz ran a few feet away from some large crevasses and crossed several smaller one. Quote
