Jordan Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 What route were you thinking about on Adams? Would you be interested in doing it in one day rather than two? Quote
Khartoum Wood Posted August 5, 2008 Author Posted August 5, 2008 shure if its possible i do mt baker that way alot too i have no experince on adams but i do have glaicer experince on a few i was thinking was thinking of adams glaicer as long as its not a tecnical ice climb with ice tools whats your thoughts on this route Quote
Jordan Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I don’t know. I've never don’t that route. Know nothing about it. Looks a little technical. Definitely need to rope up. I'm down for just about anything though. Quote
Khartoum Wood Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 i have read the site for mt adams and found out its at around 55dig i do have rope up experience i think i will have to call the forest service and get more info as there description is very vag i will have more info soon. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Adams Glacier is probably very broken up by now and not a good choice. Try the Mazama Glacier route if you want to avoid the masses on the S Spur (you'll merge with them anyways), or scramble up the N ridge (if you don't mind tons of scree). Quote
Khartoum Wood Posted August 8, 2008 Author Posted August 8, 2008 and that was the info i have been looking for thank you have you climbed the adams glaicer whats it like tryed getting info off the forest rangers by phone and they seemed to have nothing on that route. Quote
Khartoum Wood Posted August 9, 2008 Author Posted August 9, 2008 so i was thinking that mazama glacier would be are best bet because adams is in the icefall zone so if you still would like to go we could leave friday night hike in and start climbing and climb this as a one day deal bellingham 360-392-0386 Quote
Jordan Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Yeah. I'm probably down. I just got back from a 60 mile trek from port angeles to Quinault so I'm feeling a bit rough but let me get back to you tomorrow.. Quote
Ryan Canfield Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I'd be willing to tag along if you need/want another person. I'll be 21 in a month, sorta new to climbing but in excellent shape. I used to be a big long distance runner and have been up to the brothers, three fingers, and mt. daniel so far this summer. i'd be willing to pay for gas and food or whatever else you need!! Or i can drive, i've got a car that fits 4. i'd love to come along. let me know =) would also be willing to do it in one day. -Ryan email: ryancan123@gmail.com phone: 253-344-8763 Quote
pc313 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 (edited) As of monday Track D was closed, you can't get to Bird Lake!! wet or no snow, some big ice above 10,000ft. Mazama Gl lake is biger then I've seen it in 15 year's, glacier's on Adams in poor shape, sun cuped, wet, hot weather forcasded for next 7 day's plus!!! You mite try Killen Creek Trail Head,or Divide Camp Trail Head, but it's a long walk in to Adams Gl,or North Cleaver!!! Good Luck!!! I'll be at lunch counter fri-mon climbing Sukdorf.. Round the Mt. Trail is closed east of south climb trail. Norm Edited August 13, 2008 by pc313 Quote
