counterfeitfake Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I toproped the offwidth to the left of P3 Rattletale last night and got my ass pretty well kicked. Does anybody know what this is called or rated? Is it in Sky Valley Rock? Quote
Good2Go Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Chasin the Lizard, 10a. Yet another "forgotten" Index classic! Quote
RuMR Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 that's an awesome cliff...never ever see anyone up there... Quote
Peter_Puget Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Â I toproped the offwidth to the left of P3 Rattletale last night and got my ass pretty well kicked. I think he is talking about the left crack in the p3 chimney not another route as such. Quote
Alpinfox Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Maybe you are talking about "Avenging the Goddess Kring" 10a Great long pitch with some #4 camalot size crack and a thin crack. Â Â Quote
counterfeitfake Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 Fox, I am not talking about that, although we had a look at it on the way down. Looks good, and a party we met up there had just come off it and gave it the thumbs-up. Â Peter is right, it's the wide crack in the left side of the bay, up the right side of which goes Rattletale P3. Vertical to slightly overhanging, and probably 9" wide, not quite wide enough to get my hip in, but narrow enough for heel-toe most of the way and good chicken-winging (if there is such a thing). Oh and dirty and mossy, although less so today than yesterday. Â Is that Chasin' the Lizard? I was guessing it would be an Index 5.10a OW but I don't know me offwidths so good. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 What you climbed is just p3 the hard way.... Quote
Alpinfox Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Aha. Gotcha. Yeah, I think that would be mighty hard. Â Here is a pic: Quote
chucK Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I tried doing it last year on toprope and it was very hard for me. I gave up (and stemmed) before topping out, but not before it got me all abraded and demoralized Quote
Buckaroo Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Â (without the stem) Looks like good training for the hollow flake on Salathe. Â It's fun to explore at Index Quote
RuMR Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 hollow flake isn't anything like that... but whatever... Quote
Peter_Puget Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 For one thing the Hollow Flake is much easier....... Quote
