jibby Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Has anyone seen any decent bouldering in the south east corner of the park? Quote
jibby Posted April 4, 2008 Author Posted April 4, 2008 I've seen some at Coushman and heard rumors of Lena lake. Quote
Drederek Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Lots of boulders at and on the way to Lake Constance as well as a huge wall. Anyone walked over to take a look? I've always been in a hurry going up that trail. Quote
Rad Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Lots of boulders at and on the way to Lake Constance as well as a huge wall. Anyone walked over to take a look? I've always been in a hurry going up that trail. Â Yes. I've walked over and scrambled to the top of one or two boulders there both times I went up Constance. There is one that is surely the largest boulder I've ever seen. It is about 100ish feet long, 80ish feet wide, and 60ish feet tall. The South end is a 20 degree overhanging rainbow-colored cobbled face that might be 50 feet wide and 70 feet tall/long. IS THIS A KING LINE?!? Â This gigantic boulder is visible from the trail on your right about 2/3rd of the way to the lake just where the trail flattens and the forest opens up briefly. Check it out and snap some pics for us. Â Some moss on the tops of these boulders is almost two feet deep. Definitely a cool spot. Quote
OlympicMtnBoy Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I walked over to check that wall out once too. It was pretty chossy, but looked like it might be fun aid climbing. If it was close to the road it might have a line or two on it. Right now it's lots of moss and lichen. Quote
RJRiha Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Jefferson Creek area has bouldering. Go in on Hamma Hamma river road and take the eventual left fork and follow it in. Quote
