The case for accomodating all languages in public school classrooms is far less clear, and I'm inclined to support english-only instruction in most cases.

 

Studies have shown it much easier to teach English literacy if you also encourage a kid to read in his/her native language. ESL programs (at least in Oregon) use native language instruction as well as English.
