I have opposed this war consistently. I have put forward a plan that will get our troops out by the end of 2009.

Per ABC News….

 

Rice [Obama advisor] noted Wednesday that Obama’s Tuesday night declaration that he will end the war in Iraq in 2009 is a goal, not a firm policy commitment. She said Obama reserves the right to revisit troop levels in Iraq upon taking the oath of office.

 

However, the goal of getting troops out by 2009 is a line that Obama has slipped into his stump speeches, and does not reflect previous statements on the stump when he was doing town halls throughout Iowa and New Hampshire.

 

And with regard to keeping other promises….

 

 

Obama’s campaign said recently it would not commit to public financing, even though Obama wrote in a November questionnaire from the Midwest Democracy Network that he would pledge alongside McCain to use the public funds in November if he is the nominee.

 

Well I guess Hope and Change do have a price……
