Goretex patches are expensive, as compared to say, nylon sticky patches for tent repair. I fixed a reasonably big tear in one of my BD gloves, just below the palm, using a tent repair patch. The hole was barely big enough to get a piece of the sticky patch inside (with the sticky surface facing out). I also backed the whole thing up with a thin layer of Seamgrip (marked for tent repair as well), before putting a patch from the outside on top of the hole.

The patch by itself is not breathable, but its not like that will be preventing me from sending sick gnar.

Seamgrip works mate! I've used it on gloves and crampon puncutred pants. Step one use scotch tape on one side (inside) of the hole or tare then goop the stuff on the other side of the fabric and let it sit. after it cures then remove the tape. The stuff is rubbery even at low temps.
