It was good for snow caving. My daughters and I dug a great one and they had fun on snowshoes in the powder.

I got a few turns in. Very nice powder. There were a lot of tracks up and about but here is what I found in the snow pack.

The powder is about 2 to 3 feet deep and not wind blown in the valley. beneath the powder is a two foot layer of styrofoam.

Below that is a ten inch layer of wet grainy snow.

If the styrofoam is stressed enough it will have nothing holding it to the ground. The styrofoam layer was very strong but I would not go out on large open slopes.
