kurthicks Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 how is the snow? good skiing? any look at Chair or da Toof? Quote
Bug Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 It was good for snow caving. My daughters and I dug a great one and they had fun on snowshoes in the powder. I got a few turns in. Very nice powder. There were a lot of tracks up and about but here is what I found in the snow pack. The powder is about 2 to 3 feet deep and not wind blown in the valley. beneath the powder is a two foot layer of styrofoam. Below that is a ten inch layer of wet grainy snow. If the styrofoam is stressed enough it will have nothing holding it to the ground. The styrofoam layer was very strong but I would not go out on large open slopes. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 22, 2008 Author Posted January 22, 2008 how is the snow? good skiing? any look at Chair or da Toof? Toof is a ramp of crappy snow on slab. I would think Chair would be a slog with all this snow, but others may be able to provide better first had reports. Quote
Farrgo Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Get a look at Snoqualmie, how sketchy is the snow pack? Quote
