kevbone Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I was walking past Crack Babies on Sat on my way to our packs after our link ups.....anyway about two climbs to the right of Crack Babies (for those who don’t know it is up the hill and across the gully from Vomit Launch) is way too many bolts. There is a climb with two bolts 2 inches from each other. This just looks terrible. I wished so bad I had my camera to post it here.... I thought how Pope and Dawg would throw a tizzy fit if they saw this…… Anyone know the story behind this debacle. Quote

kevbone Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 those are belay bolts. That would be funny if it were true. These two bolts were about 15 feet up the wall on completely over hanging section. Talk about a “hanging belay”. Quote
ashw_justin Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Well they must be the chains for the first boulder problem then. Quote
kevbone Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 No chains....just two bolts within two inches of each other. Quote
jlag Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Probably Caffeine Free, was it on the base of the W. Wooden Ship? One bolt is good, the other is loose. Never been removed. I like to joke with folks and tell them it's cruxy between the 2 bolts. JL Quote
kevbone Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 You are right……wrong gully. The climb I am referring too is about 2 or 3 climbs to the right of Crack Babies……. Quote
RuMR Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 It may be bend over or stand and deliver...both shitty routes, imo when initially put up...caveat, i haven't linked them... or maybe bongo fury? Drilled peg board, pretty hard since a hold broke... Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 prolly bongo fury, just right of crack babies. steep start roof with holes going into vertical face.... Quote
RuMR Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 have you done that thing post-broken hold? Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 nope, never been on it. heard it was a hard slab crux. is that where the hold broke? Quote
