marylou
Make me want to break things. I know, I know, I can change the channel, but I don't want to have to give up NPR for a whole week.
Couloir
I agree. They seem to have moved more toward the shorter, more frequent breaks as opposed to the endless, less frequent breaks. Those were unbearable.
marylou
Yeah. I get around some of it by catching up on my podcasts, but I want today's news as well.

Couloir
I would reply in kind, but this IS Cafe Sensitivisio.
marylou
Exactly. Liz, we're looking for a little hand-holding here as thre KUOW beggars have disrupted our delicate lives with their begging. Speaking of which, there's a tell-all piece in The Stranger this week about how much cash KUOW has in the bank that will make you not want to pledge. chucK
Then pledge to KPLU instead!
marylou
KPLU plays too much jazz music and doesn't cover national politics as much. I'm in it for the politics.
ClimbingPanther
Hey, at least they have a surplus instead of finding ways to hide the money or funnel it in to their own pockets somehow.
lizard_brain
I'm in it for Noam Chomsky and Michael Feldman.
No. 13 Baby
Take a break from your local station for a week (after you pledge, of course), and listen to one of the dozens of public radio stations worldwide available on itunes.
crackers
i hate NPR's coverage of the politics. dosh garned tools of the hegemonic forces of the republic. especially that marketplace show and fresh air...ugh. But I'm with you on breaking things during the pledge drives. One of the local stations here in NYC does one day a year, and signs you up as a member and they're actually cool about it...but the rest of them...dosh garned liberal guilt mongers!
