Sherri Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 A while back, I thought somebody mentioned that there's a retailer where you can get one each of different-sized climbing shoes, instead of having to purchase a matched pair. Would be a nice alternative to having one shoe too big and one shoe too tight. Quote
murraysovereign Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I'm not sure about specific retailers, but as I recall Evolv will sell mis-matched shoes by mail-order, and I think Five Ten does also, but only within the US. Quote
Sherri Posted October 6, 2007 Author Posted October 6, 2007 Maybe that was it(going through the mfr. rather than the retailer.) I didn't see mismatches as an ordering option on FiveTen's website, but I'll give them a call on Monday just in case. Thanks! Quote
Sherri Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 I just heard back from the folks at FiveTen. You can order two different-size shoes as a pair for a 25% surcharge. Good to know. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Just make sure they fit! I haven't got a pair of 5.10 shoes that fit me yet. And i've tried a bunch! Quote
Alpinfox Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Just make sure they fit! I haven't got a pair of 5.10 shoes that fit me yet. And i've tried a bunch! They are supposed to go on your feet perv. Quote
Sherri Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 I'm eyeing up the new 5.10 VMile's for an all-day trad shoe, but I can't seem to get one size to work for both feet. I'm excited about the comfort and support of this shoe, though, so I wanted to look further into the sizing options. When I asked the guy at 5.10 why they didn't advertise mismatching as an option on their website, he said because "then everyone would want to do it." Duh. So now we know. But you didn't hear it from me. Quote
archenemy Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I am surprised more companies don't routinely sell different sized shoes as a set. Everyone has feet a little different size, and many people have as much as a 1/2 size difference. Sherri, what is it with the foot fetish today? Quote
Sherri Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Sherri, what is it with the foot fetish today? So, um, what size are you wearing right now? Quote
selkirk Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Just get something tight and slip lasted They'll stretch after a bit and fit both feet like a glove. Quote
Ishmael Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Just go to REI and try on about four sizes... I am sure you could slip one size into the other box...... This will only work if the box store has the type you want.... Quote
