One of my partners had em' and liked em' but said they had durability issues. (I rember the sole coming off!).

Speaking of scarpa, they look like they are strarting to spit out some sweet rock shoes. Back with a vengance after a 15+ year slump.

i really like my XTs. mine get a little sloppy wading around in deep snow, but the newer gore models are probably a bit better. they are plenty light, stiff in the sole, and supple in the ankle. mine have held up fine but i am not a very abusive user anymore--they do have a lot of seams. i have done a handful of semi-dignified alpine marches in them in addition to many ice-crag approaches and they have been fine.

Me me me me too!! I have a pair of Scarpa Freneys that are 42. I've been trying to sell them for a while (same reason as Alex -- too narrow for my feet). They have seen not more than 2 days of ice action. I'll sell them for cheap..
