G-spotter Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I don't think they make Freneys anymore Quote
jam1234567 Posted September 30, 2007 Author Posted September 30, 2007 Perhaps I should have said Freney XT? Quote
Jens Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 One of my partners had em' and liked em' but said they had durability issues. (I rember the sole coming off!). Speaking of scarpa, they look like they are strarting to spit out some sweet rock shoes. Back with a vengance after a 15+ year slump. Quote
Mark_Husbands Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 i really like my XTs. mine get a little sloppy wading around in deep snow, but the newer gore models are probably a bit better. they are plenty light, stiff in the sole, and supple in the ankle. mine have held up fine but i am not a very abusive user anymore--they do have a lot of seams. i have done a handful of semi-dignified alpine marches in them in addition to many ice-crag approaches and they have been fine. Alex Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I have a pair I am selling, 42.5. They are too narrow for my foot, but otherwise are great boots, and warm. Many days in the rockies and locally in these... Quote

I have a pair of Scarpa Freneys that are 42. I've been trying to sell them for a while (same reason as Alex -- too narrow for my feet). They have seen not more than 2 days of ice action. I'll sell them for cheap.. Quote
G-spotter Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I could use a new pair of the original Freney in 44... Quote
