i_like_sun Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 So, a rat broke into my Cocoteal's cage last night and tore out her thoat. Anyone else have experience with scary rodents? Quote
i_like_sun Posted August 27, 2007 Author Posted August 27, 2007 Well, the guy certainly looks like a killer rat. Quote
pope Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 So, a rat broke into my Cocoteal's cage last night and tore out her thoat. Anyone else have experience with scary rodents? Use traps, not poison. If they're living in your walls and you poison them, they'll probably go back to their nest to die. Then your home will REALLY smell bad. Bate 'em with peanut butter. Quote
cj001f Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 my sisters rat died at the Alaska Airlines counter at PDX Quote
Winter Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 my roommate had a pet python, and we were learning to feed it live mice with the cats around - they were prett fascinated and pretty jealous of the snake. next day my cat had caught a large rat, brought it into the backyard, and left it next to the snake's bucket for breakfast. catbirdseat Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 So, a rat broke into my Cocoteal's cage last night and tore out her thoat. Anyone else have experience with scary rodents? How did it get in? Did it chew through the plastic base? That sucks. We have birds but we also have cats. They tend to keep the rats away. Quote
i_like_sun Posted August 27, 2007 Author Posted August 27, 2007 No, we usually leave the birds cage door open so she can come and go as she pleases. So its our fault. Not really the rat's. Quote
fig8 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Crispin Glover Wow. I never saw that Letterman clip... dude had one weird shtick ...he always seems to get the roles of rather odd characters... the Thin Man in Charlies Angels, the guy on the train in Dead Man (Jarmusch). Never saw Willard, but looks pretty odd their too. Quote
ScottP Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Glover was the guy in the Santa Claus suit in Wild At Heart. That was about the freakiest thing in that movie. Quote
catbirdseat Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 We might have a cockatiel we can give you, if you like. We have many, but they are not tame. If you want a finger trained one, you'll have to buy a baby. Quote
i_like_sun Posted August 27, 2007 Author Posted August 27, 2007 Thanks! But I think the plan right now is to go "pet-less" for a while. With the exception of the house trained Rooster name Charlie, its sort of nice having some freedom from animal responsibilities. How many birds do you have? Quote
