brokenpick
I have never climbed in the Cascades. Are my La Sportiva Trango S Evo Goretex boots adequate for moderate routes on Rainier in the summer? If not what would those of you in the know suggest that I try on for fit. Toast
This time of year, those are a good choice... as long as they fit. They're not insulated, so if you hit it when it's cold and nasty, your toesies won't be so warm, but otherwise, they're what I'd wear. Mark_Husbands
personally, i would wear something warmer.
kweb
I have worn mine on Rainier and Baker. I use the Smartwool Mountaineer socks. My toes start to get cold only if I stop. Great boots
benb
I am in the market for some new boots. I climb year round but will usually be in my ski boots in the winter, or when there is good skiiing. I do want a mountaineering boot could handle winter climbs. So what I am asking is what is the best all around all season climbing boot out there? Thanks Ben B
kweb
Hey Ben Try posting this as a seperate question rather than highjacking this post. You should get more responces that way. I would start by finding a brand that fits you well. Then chose how much insulation you need.

I'd check out stuff like maybe the La Sportiva Nepal or maybe the Boreal Pamir...something along those lines. They're great for summer volcanoes, and they work well for ice climbing as well. Just a thought.
Climber57
These are the Trangos...But Insulated. Great Boots ( $$$ ! ) http://www.sportiva.com/products/prod/336 Trango Extreme Evo Light GTX/Duratherm
milosh_k
In a cold temperture trango evo can be so much warmer with a neopreen sock and it will cost you such little in weight and dollars. I am sometimes using this within the cascades. I am also using a thicker foam peice for cold from below. milosh Edited August 21, 2007 by milosh_k
