Holden Village Skiing

Has anyone ever done any backcountry skiing out of Holden Village above Lake Chelan in Washington? I've been there in winter and there are wonderful mountains above the village.

Yep, lots of options but you need to send a post card to the village if you want a pick up from the ferry. It is a loooonnng skin if the cat doesn't come get you. Quick access to a lot of skiing and the village has a sauna, you need to attend Vespers to use it

The bus runs in the winter sometimes, andsome times its the sno cat, but they do have regularly scheduled pickups all through the winter, sodon't think that if you went up on a weekend in the winter, that you'd be the only one on the bus.

 

The Lake Chelan Boat company (with winter schedule) would be a good place to start.

That area has huge potential. Too bad boat plus bus is two days out of the schedule no matter how you slice it. Or maybe that's a good thing?
