Crillz
Is it worth getting the orthroscopic surgery? Anyone have any words of advice? The technical term is Orthroscopic Lateral Menisectomy - I scheduled this for next week thinking there's no solution other than surgery. Thanks for any stories or info. Doug
I've had it done in both knees; to the best of my knowledge if the tear is severe enough and the meniscus will flop around, may as well get it done. I had my first one done in 92 (I was 32) and I healed reltively quick. The second one was in 97 and I was in much better shape. It healed very quick. I was hiking, climbing and running in 2 months. Crillz
My doc is telling me a couple/few weeks for recovery. I'd prefer not to blow 2 months of good climbing weather, but it sounds like recovery varies - probably on how messed up the knee is in the first place. Thanks.
