G-spotter
Styrofoam making destroys the ozone layer, but I'm not sure that its production is relevant to global warming.
Weekend_Climberz
If you breathe in ozone, then it kills you. So, it must be bad. Less ozone is definately a good thing. We could use less of it.

catbirdseat
styrofoam is bad because it melts glaciers... however, what keeps ice from melting in the ice chest? .... styrofoam. discuss... Traditionally Freon was used as a blowing agent in foam production, but alternatives are being phased in to replace it. Much of the foam used in ice chests is polyurethane. Some of the gas comes from the chemical reaction in the form of C02 and the rest is added agent such as n-pentane.

underworld
some lady at the freemont fair had a sign on her chest to ban styrofoam from seattle. (i was eating fried rice on a styrofoam plate at the time...hands were full so i couldn't sign her petition)
Weekend_Climberz
If we ban styrofoam, then all the teriyaki places in seattle would go out of business. That's like commiting economic suicide around here.
