catbirdseat Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Truck tires keep coming off on the freeways and killing people and damaging vehicles. This has happened three times in a short period. Is this just a coincidence? Or is someone going about loosening lug nuts? Story Quote
AlpineK Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Back when I was working for a tree service we had a project that we shared with 2 other tree companies (including the company that just put out the job add on the main board). The job was down at Fort Lewis pruning and removing trees in the housing areas of the base. We carpooled to and back from the base. One day I was driving my rig home with 3 other guys. Somewhere just south of Tacoma I-5 was clear in front of me when all of a sudden I see this huge tire flying through the air from the southbound lanes. The tire hits the highway just in front of me then goes sailing over my rig. It was lucky that the tire went off the highway and didn't hit any vehicle just behind me. A little ways north we see this rig in the southbound lanes pulled over with problems. The whole thing was freaky. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Heard a story about another tire hitting a house this morning on the news. That makes four in like three weeks or something crazy. I rode in big rigs with my grandfather when he hauled fertilizer and probably did a few tens of thousands of miles with him during the summers when I was out of school. Never heard of anything like this. Quote
