rob Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Hey, maybe this is a stupid question, but when leading on double ropes with two followers, is it kosher for the followers to tie into only one half-rope each? Obviously, this wouldn't work well for swinging leads, but if the leader is going to lead the route, is it safe for a second to fall on a single strand of the half-rope? Seems OK to me, but I thought I'd ask. Quote
fenderfour Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 just make sure to keep the penalty slack at a minimum. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Rob, you can easily swing leads or climb in blocks with this method. You just have to clip into the anchor and have everyone untie from the rope and then give the next leader both the ends on top of the stack  Blocks are the best way, since then everyone rests, then climbs, rests, then climbs. When you swing leads, someone will have to climb two pitches before they get a rest Quote
