From the summit of Stuart, what's the best line to take to get to a bivy spot that's as close to Sherpa's West Ridge route as possible? On average, how long does it take to get to that spot from Stuart's summit? Thanks, Tim

Really depends! Are you caring crampons? If so, walking down the glacier is way faster than trying to side step it. I would say 2 hours at the most, in good weather.

If you are doing this in summer, water will be your biggest problem. Find a spot at top of the divide betwee Ingalls crk and Mountaieer crk. so you can get snow.

The pass to the east of Sherpa is a great campsite and has snow late in the summer. I have not been to the pass on the west side of Sherpa.

It will be a bit less than two hours from the summit of Stuart if you keep moving.
