MtnHigh Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 Who's up for some ice play Sunday on the Elliot? Quote
iain Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 I might be in. Wx says chance of rain, snow level 7K'. Quote
ivan Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 i'm definetly interested...more importantly, i'm not above getting rained/snowed on  on the reprehensible side though, i've only just begun learning ice-climbing, and lack ice-tools (i do have a standard axe though)...if you have a spare tool, or just want to do climbs where we can share, i'm more than willing to serve as a packmule and get all the crap up there (might even be persuaded to buy a beer in appreciation) Quote

ivan Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 would love to get out saturday but have 2 very nasty, irretractable commitments Quote
rbw1966 Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Things are shaping up that I may be there Sunday. I'll bring the extra tool with me. Quote
iain Posted October 27, 2002 Posted October 27, 2002 so is anyone actually going on sunday? nice to run into you guys at beacon on Sat. too bad there was such gridlock at the snag ledge. Quote
rbw1966 Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 Myself a budddy of mine and Ivan were up on the Eliot on Sunday. Good time was had by all and the weather was not too bad. Crashing seracs were a bit disconcerting though. It was a bit warm. Quote
iain Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 we were there too where the heck were you? Quote
rbw1966 Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 We were right next to that huge serac in the center of the Eliot Glacier. Quote
iain Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 We were in the lower icefall. We got pretty soaked for awhile there. Quote
ivan Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 and there i was thinking we were all alone in the beautiful weather...think the coolest thing i saw all day was a veritable waterfall of clouds...some wind system moving big streams of clouds directly towards the ground at 90 degrees for several hundred feet before flattening out just overhead...trippy shit Quote
