bgagosian Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 So I decided to spend my thursday evening at the Hollywood theater watching the Reel Rock Tour. Thanks to the local climbing gyms and all for putting that show on and the free gear. For starters the First Ascents movie was pretty sweet, to bad we didn't get to see the whole thing...but I guess that is part of the tour..whatever. What really pisses me off was the fact that i went to the damn movie to see Tommy's link on El Cap. Instead i had to endure perhaps the worst display of a "climbing movie" ever. Dosage IV was a bunch of bullshit. If i wanted to see circus freaks climbing 20 feet off the ground i sure as shit wouldn't have wasted my 12 dollars and my evening to do so. Chris Sharma and Dave Graham are talented...but i dont care to watch some climbing porn. The true pioneers of this sport are pushing the limits like Tommy Caldwell or the Hubers or countless unknowns who are extreme alpinists and true climbers. You don't have to be able to boulder v15 or climbing 5.15 to be a good climber...drop the numbers and have some god damn fun for a change. I would have rather watched masters of stone V now there is a good movie. The true pioneers of this sport are Dean, Didier, Tommy, not those fucking dead beat stoners Chris Sharma and Dave Graham. Lambone Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 different strokes for different folks dude. there is a whole group of climbers that values hard bouldering just as much as you value something like freeing the Nose. Sorry you are so unaccepting of your fellow climbers who enjoy watching bouldering. That said, REEL ROCK TOUR is at our gym next Saturday night. $8, includes beer and raffle. www.roguerockgym.com Quote
dom Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 dude chill out, different people like different types of climbing, deal with it. When the Real Rock Tour was in Seattle they showed the 2 in day on el cap dose, but not the swiss bouldering, you should've gone to that one. Quote
archenemy Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Got to admit though, Masters of Stone V rocks. Best climbing video ever. Quote
