Jens Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 It could be urban legend, but about 10 years ago I heard through the grapevine that several eastern washington climbers had been working on a 5.12 route on Stuart. The route utilized bolts and was a work in progress that was a group effort over several seasons. I am probably way off on my details but I believe the route was named the "frog route" or some such business and was on the western aspect of the mountain. Anybody have any more info on this? My facts and memory could and probably are way off, but I know that such a project was being worked on. Quote
Jens Posted August 30, 2006 Author Posted August 30, 2006 Dude. ouch. I knew the guys working on this thing. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Maybe you're thinking of rap bolting on Prusik Peak. Quote
layton Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 could be the W face wall on stuart, but it only went at 5.11- and didn't look like any progress had been made after pitch 3. Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 wtf are you doing on stuart? I thought August was eiger nordwand season. get out there before it falls down. Quote
Blake Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Does anyone know if that West Face Wall was ever climbed? Free or with bolts? Contact info for these Cle Elum hardmen of the early 1990s or the fellow who occasionally posts here at MattStan would very appreciated. Quote
