Buckner N. Face

Does anyone have a clue whether the std. N. Face route on Buckner is still accessible? Big schrund at the bottom? Can the snow be skirted on rock easily enough? Any recent beta would be greatly appreciated.

Wow! So much for the heavy snow year! I've never seen it that melted out.

totally gone as of 2 weeks ago. From the summit looking down it was tough to imagine the route even being there.

 

From the fairly high snow levels this spring, things have melted out super fast all over the place.

I was under the impression that the N Face melts out to the point that you wouldn't want to do by early summer every year?

It is interesting that for how big of a winter we had how bare and dry everything is. I think that the warm dry spring really hammered everything.

I climbed it in excellent conditions in September about 4-5 yrs ago....in a moderate snow years....

That looks like it could be really fun to climb after a September storm, at least to this retard.

The winter wasn't really that "big"... I think snowpack was just around average by the time spring rolled around. It just seemed big because there weren't any pineapple expresses from Christmas on, and we built snow pack earlier rather than later...
