jam4507 Posted July 4, 2006 Share Posted July 4, 2006 Hi, watch for snakes in cracks... I was bit by a snake in Playground point eight days ago in icicle canyon. Playground Point is somewhat know for rattle snake sightings. A baby northern pacific rattler was in a crack and without a rattle to warn me I had my hand next to him as I checked a stopper. Next thing I knew I saw his head flash onto my hand to hit me. We hiked out and went to the hospistal where I recieved antivenom (note, skip Leavenworth, and drive straigt to Wenatche where they have antivenom, call ahead to tell them you are coming so they can start to mix it). I spend two nights in the hospital and was released early. Quite an adventure, but I recommend glancing in cracks before placing body parts near them.
