Any beta on which of the cell phone providers have the best coverage in the sea to sky corridor and surrounding mountains?

Any thing thats not digital only seems to work fine. Maybe ask about long distance between Whistler/squamish and Vancouver some have different rates/plans..

I think calls from/to Whistler are free from most providers

With my American cell phone plan I had coverage in Whistler and at the head of the Pitt river (Qwest).

I'm on rogers,and get coverage almost all the way though, just a few short areas where I don't get any.

verizon works pretty well up through whistler at least. if you're not on an int'l plan you will be charged for roaming -- whether you're sending or receiving, and that includes text messages and voicemails! cust. svc told me that if i was going to go up for a short time i could change plans before going and then i'd have a month in which to change my mind back to my old plan. just a tip. you'll be charged for the portion of the month you use of course, but you won't get slammed for the roaming.

i've found rogers to be pretty good, but no coverage in lillooet . probably not that unexpected, but kinda sucks when you're out ice climbing in winter. not sure how telus or bell compare...

Rogers loses coverage 1km from Hope when heading north OR east. the Fraser Canyon is a giant Rogers-free zone.
