bigbro Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Depends on the boot. If your looking to buy, try your boot out on several brands. Some will fit better than others. FYI my partner had an issue with fitting an older set of sabertooths to Trango Ice boots. Quote
MattStan Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Go with either the Vasak or the G12. Their respective integrations of the antibott (anti-balling) platform are much better than BD's. Quote
dbconlin Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 (edited) i'm very happy with my sabretooth anti-botts, much better than those on my m-10s (which of course are not in consideration here...) i do believe at least the vasaks are lighter, but better...??? It may depend on what you want to climb. I think sabretooths are very good at steep ice as well as moderate. I have not tried the others, but my impression is maybe not so good on the steeps. Chad_A Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 True, it does depend on what you want to do with them. I had a pair of G12s until they were stolen. Liked them quite a bit. The guy I just did the route on the Grand with, swears by Sabretooths. Climbs steep ice in them (WI5+), and says that the flat, horizontal frontpoints fit well into horizontal cracks while doing difficult mixed stuff. Quote
carolyn Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 True, it does depend on what you want to do with them. Unless you have sabretooths....then it doesnt matter. Like your friend says, they do it all. Quote
chris Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 In my experience, G12's climb ice better. Sabretooths climb rock better. I have both. I use the G12's more often. Quote
