Jens Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 skiiers and ski mountaineers.... Speaking of goggle lens tints and colors: Whattya like for different conditions? Fog? early evening? bright? flat light? rain? snowing? Watching world cup racers on TV not even agree what color to use on a given day is interesting. Coaches are putting lots of googles on the racers before the start. Some go with yellow, others purple, orange, and even blue. Any opinions? I have mine, but I want hear others. Quote
crackers Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 pink, grey, orange for morning, afternoon, evening. If i have to pick one, i pick orange. I have heard that blue is really good for blown in days, but haven't tried it yet. Pink doesn't do it for me in flat light which is why i pick orange for the only color. Quote
dbconlin Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I think rose is very versatile for relatively bright conditions, but able to handle gloom/flat light (I used to live in Colorado). For more consistently flat light conditions, I would go with orange (perhaps better for Washington). Quote
TrogdortheBurninator Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I used to always use orange, but my most recent pair is rose. I tried some o fmy old orange goggles the other day and did not like them as much as the rose. I have never really been in to the whole changing goggles as conditions change thing. Quote
cj001f Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I like the smith sensor (blue-ish) for overcast/snowing. Much better than yellow lenses; the higher transmission than rose helps. If it's bright out - low transmission rules. Quote
