Drive to Yosemite?

Mapquest tells me the drive to Yosemite from Seattle is about 15 hours. How accurate is this?

 

I'm planning trip out there summer '06.

That seems a bit quick to me, but if you don't hit any traffic along the way (Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, and Sacramento are potential bottlenecks) drive faster than the speed limit, never stop for gas or food, and don't have to pull over to nap, you might make it.

 

It generally has taken me about 17-18 hours with stops and a nap.

Cause he's going for the record Seattle to Seattle speed ascent of El Cap. Official timers and everything.

Speed climbing records are now measured door-to-door. Didn't you know that?

That's about right. It takes 21 hours from Seattle to Laguna Beach. It takes 7 hours from Yosemite to Laguna Beach.

It's a grade IV, can be done in a day by a strong team, but some parties may bivouac. Getting more specific would require more information about equipment, experience, ethics, and attitude.

15 hours is about right. Give or take an our for traffic. If your making good time you can make it in 13 hours.
