jstone Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I've got the old MEC synthetic belay parka, all were made in the colour "Tang" very bright, very warm. Quote
Bronco Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 WT denali has the same insulation, but it has a hardshell, not microfiber. Mine is about 8 years old and has a gtx outershell, but they switched over to sympatex in the last few years of production. I've used mine for skiing at -10f and been almost too warm. Too bad the sucker is huge and weighs something like three pounds. I'd agree 100%. I don't have any problems with the hood/helmet fit. Pretty warm and heavy. I don't see it on the website either so it may have been discontinued. In reality you shouldn't need a hard shell with that much insulation because there isn't going to be much moisture when it's cold enough to warrant wearing this coat. Quote
crackers Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I also have the tang MEC belay parka. Very very warm...the outer is dryloft. Quote
whidbey Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I'm beating a dead hoare.,,, sorry about that. I'm really thrilled with the new Mammut Stratus with hood... it's almost to dman warm. Had to special order from Feathered just to get it. Worth the wait for sure. Quote
