JoshK Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 The thread on Carl's untimely passing made me think of an idea. Out of respect I have opened this seperate thread. What do people think of a possible "memorial" feature on cc.com? I imagine more than just a sticky thread but a seperate section where we can post short memorials for those we have climbed with that are no longer with us. I don't imagine it would be any major feature but possibly just tucked away somewhere to honor those we have lost. Anybody have thoughts on this, positive or negative? Quote
sobo Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 JoshK, archenemy brought that up in the "What do you want to see?" thread in the cc.com news forum. I concurred with it then, and I concur with it now. I think it's something we ought to have to continually remind us of our friends that have passed out of our collective lives. Quote
cj001f Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 A place for friends & family to post memories would be a very cool place - both for friends & family, and those who didn't know them. Quote
AllYouCanEat Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 (edited) Thanks Josh. I did mention the same thing here: http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/threadz/s...true#Post272813 It would be a good place for youngens like us to be humbled and for friends and family to remember. Alpine_Tom Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I back the idea as well. As well as a benefit to the local climbing community, it seems like it might be valuable to the family members, folks who may be struggling with their loss, wondering why their loved one died out in the mountains, to see the effect of his or her life on others.
