Yep, this weather sux. And what sux more is when you're trying to implement an algorithm and the two papers you have on it (by the same authors) are inconsistent, and the two independent sources you could find on similar methods are likewise inconsistent. 2/4 papers are dropping a 1/2 from the 2nd-order term of a Taylor-series expansion (for calculating optimal control). Likely I'll waste the whole day on a whiteboard getting to the botton of what is likely a careless error or a clever sequence of substitutions to obfuscate the 1/2.
