j_b Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 "Lance Armstrong has tested positive for using performance enhancing drugs in 1999 the French newspaper L'Equipe reported Tuesday. The seven-time Tour de France winner reportedly used the banned drug EPO according to new tests of urine samples taken in 1999 when he won his first Tour de France." http://www.eurosport.com/home/pages/v4/l0/s18/e7203/sport_lng0_spo18_evt7203_sto756644.shtml Quote
archenemy Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Wow. So they are only behind 6 years? And we complain about our media... Quote
mec Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 The other article I read actually stated that the lab had no idea who's urine they tested, and it is complete speculation that it is Armstrongs... I am waiting for judgement on this one until all the real facts come out. Why listen to all these tabloid type articles... Quote
j_b Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 the samples were indeed processed blindly but there is no doubt to whom they belong. these papers aren't tabloids by the way. i have always felt that lance should be given the benefit of the doubt but i am afraid that now we have moved well into the "evidence of doping" phase ... http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20050823/ts_...HNlYwMlJVRPUCUl Quote

Dru Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 saying " I told you so" would be superfluous. Quote
