Climb: -Clean Break

Date of Climb: 7/24/2005

Trip Report:

I was going to post a TR about heading up Clean Break this past weekend with Eric8, but when I read Layton's TR, I realized that mine would be a verbatim repeat. Without excess verbiage, here's the photo assault:

Gear Notes:

Gear up to fist size, a rope.

Approach Notes:

We bivied at the Burgundy notch. This was a mistake.

great route...no need to bivi....

Exactly. We hiked in Sat. & slept at the Burgundy notch before descending and climbing Clean Break on Sunday.

I'd recommend not bothering with the Burgundy notch, and just doing the thing car-to-car.

I think the Silver Star Creek approach is quite a bit more direct way to CB than via Burgundy col. But you're probably not as likely to meet any mtn goats coming up that way, so it's really a matter of taste. Check your PMs Squid.
