High Country Base Camps?

Does anybody know of any good high country base camps with good mountain scrambles?

Boston Basin is really nice. Allthough the scrambles are a bit technical.

Lake of the Angels in the Olympics. You can climb Mt. Stone and get a great view. I think you approach up the Hamma Hamma River road.

Gothic Basin with Gothic Peak and Del Campo close by.

Yeah, Gothic Basin. Del Campo is many people's favorite scramble in Western Washington. Gothic peak is pretty simple compared to Del Campo. Take a helmet if you've got one.

I've climbed both Del Campo and gothic. Would like to find a new basin like gothic or glacier basin, with multiple peaks that can be climbed.

Royal basin above royal lake is great and there are plenty of peak scrambles all over like mt deception(olympic mtns)

For a mountaineering outing,Cache Col is not all that difficult to reach, but you should bring an ice axe and crampons because the snow slopes on the teraverse/climb from Cascade Pass can be icy. The col has a nice campsite, and the views are as good as it gets. I have found running water shortly down the south side of the col, even as late in the year as October. I believe that class three routes can be found on Mixup Peak, Magic Mountain, Hurry-Up Peak, and Art's Knoll. Formidable and Spider would be doable as well.

Sahale Arm makes a nice place to spend a weekend. Besides Sahale Peak, lots of places to check out.
