terrible_ted Posted August 8, 2001 Posted August 8, 2001 Hi: Has anyone been up Snowfield peak lately? Any beta on the condition of the Neve glacier? -t Quote
terrible_ted Posted August 9, 2001 Author Posted August 9, 2001 Ahem!! It's the one south of Lake Diablo, north of Eldorado... You may have looked at it on the way to Colonial, Pyramid or Pinnacle? Ring a bell? -t Quote

But I surmise you would rather I post and tell you that than have no one post and assume your post is being ostracized [This message has been edited by Dru (edited 08-09-2001).] Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted August 9, 2001 Posted August 9, 2001 Not me but it sure looks fun up there Ted. Tell me how it goes. Quote
philfort Posted August 9, 2001 Posted August 9, 2001 I have some beta. It might be a little out of date though. Don't follow Beckey's directions for getting up to the ridge below Pyramid. We did. It sucked. All the other parties we saw (3) took a "trail" that follows the ridge from Pyramid Lake. We came down that way - it was slightly better, but we never saw a trail. The snow starts at around 3500ft, and the glacier is in fine shape, but the snow is a little soft. As of May 1999, that is. Quote
