Jopa
How difficult is navigating the Chickamin glacier from the Dome/Chickamin col to the base of Gunsight's main peak? Also, has anyone ever camped at the col? Is there enough room for two tents? Any beta would be appreciated.
TimL
A couple years ago in fall on a dry year a couple guys did the route. I think it was pretty broken but its doable. This might be the right time of year to do it. If I remember correctly, there should be enough room around the col to camp. If not there will be room on the Dome Glacier. John Frieh
Depends on season. I have recent (last couple of years) pics of the chickamin from white rocks, the top of flattop, top of snowdome and the col in the months of June, July, and Sept. if it would help. When you thinking about going? Camping: Not exactly on the col but below it (chickamin) you could squeeze in 2 tents easy (though you would have to dig a platform). FYI: east of gunsight fell down for the most part.
JoshK
You will have no problem camping at that col. Like nols said, if not right on the col you'll find something very near by.
Jopa
I am going this weekend. A picture of the Chickamin in June would be great.
