At least three people were injured in a downtown Seattle construction accident.

SEATTLE - Three workers at a downtown Seattle construction site were injured Wednesday afternoon when steel beams apparently partially collapsed at a building owned jointly by the Seattle Art Museum and Washington Mutual Bank.

Preliminary reports from the scene at 2nd and Union indicated that one worker was on a steel beam when it collapsed. Two other workers were also injured when they were hit by the falling steel.

Firefighters and emergency medical personnel were called to the scene and the injured workers were transported them to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

(Seattle PI says broken bones, nothing life threatening - but those guys were probably feeling like Wile E. Coyote)

That sucks, but I'm glad no one was seriously injured.

It would be scary as hell to be next to something like that when it starts to fail.
