BreezyD Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 I am looking to pick up some retired climbing gear to decorate a sign I am making. I would prefer things like figure eights, adzes, pitons, screws, carabiners, hangers, rap rings ... and anything else that is metal and relatively flat. I'd like to pay as little as possible ... maybe even nothing ... anyone getting rid of any junk gear? Thanks! Brianna Quote
Dru Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 If you go to Castle Rock with a hammer and nut tool and clean rusty old, broken-eyed 1950's and 1960's era pitons out of the cracks you could get everything you need in about 2 hours. Quote
shapp Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 I too am working on a piece of art and need several items for my "ode to crack" master piece. What I think would complete my piece de resistance are 2 metolius number 1 TCU's, a couple of Leeper cam hooks (the small and medium sizes); a number 5 BD cam, a couple more KB's (short and thin) and some of those new WC zeros. I would like to pay as little as possible as I am an indegent climbing artist with a big beer habbit. Once these supplies are aquired the masterpiece will be disclosed to the masses latter this summer. Thanks for any help on my artistic aquisition list Quote
fredrogers Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 I saw a bunch of military issue ring pitons at the surplus store in Belltown not so long ago. They were $1/each. Might be worth a call to them. Quote
