Camilo Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Were your shocks frozen? Are they elastomer? Quote
Fairweather Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 It wasn't really that cold. Just snowing for the last 500 feet or so. We spent the next day climbing in Mazama on warm dry rock. Quote
Camilo Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 If you want to do Adams, cut up some old skis and make a ski bike. I did it and used it at Ski Bowl a couple of times. It's super fun! Quote
Double_E Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 nice pic there FW. I've done some riding near Twisp, but haven't yet done Cutthroat Pass. gotta get up there, one of these yrs... Â OK, I'm off to do Mt. Blanchard near B'ham. happy Sunday, gapers. Quote
Camilo Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 You stop just like you do on skis. Or jump off and hope the bike doesn't keep going. Quote

treknclime Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Have humped a ski bike to Muir a few times; man, that some fun stuff! Did 8's all the way down to Pan point, then out through Edith Creek basin to PDise. Â I'd love to have one to try again! Quote
Camilo Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 The skinny on ski bikes http://www.daydreamsunlimited.com/Koski/vinceC.html What's lame about those is that you wear snowblades at the same time. That's like riding a BMX bike with rollerblades on. I rented one of the older ski bikes and it was fun. I built my own and it was even more fun, albeit much much sketchier. Needless to say that within a couple of hours, Ski Bowl decided that they would only allow production ski bikes on the hill. But man was it fun! If anybody's up for some ski biking sometime, I'll cut up some old skis and mount them up on axles for you. It's easy, and I'd be up to try it again! Squid, you can bring your kayak too. Quote
