I heard the publishers were these two sisters who believed in creation science, and no one was allowed to mention evolution or how old rocks were yellaf.gif

seriously, the best climbing mag i have ever read HANDS DOWN. and this was a PILE of old back issues. tons of info. There was history and geologey and it was beautiful. Too bad there is nothing even close to that now.

There still is one good climbing Magazine that I know of and that is Alpinist. Good articles with extensive history, good photography, and few advertisements.

More trivia about Off Belay - First Issue was Jan/Feb 1972 and the last issue wa Feb 1981 - Ray published 55 issues all together - I thought it was an excellent climbing magazine - I still have all my copies - Ray was also kind enough to publish my Climbing Word Play drawings which took courage.
