Bug
A friend of mine is having trouble finding a boot that fits her very narrow foot. It would be for backpacking and a little glacier travel. Sportivas are wide by her standard. Any suggestions?
marylou
Scarpas tend to run the narrowest of all.
Bug
Hmmm. Those were wide for her too. This woman is a freak!
foolscongress
have her try the montrail ice 9--lowish in voume, narrow heel and midfoot, mid width in the forefoot. put superfeet in them to take up some space. montrail also makes a couple lighter duty versions of this boot, tho i can't recall the names. thelawgoddess
if she really is a freak, custom insoles might help.
ajm
I agree with thelawgoddess. If she cannot find a shoe to fit her then she should buy a boot that comes close to fitting her, get custom insoles, and possibly think about going to a cobbler to further fit her freakish feet into a boot. Flatlander1
My wife found most boots were wide for her feet too but she doesn't have "freakishly" narrow feet. She found Kaylands fit her best as they have a women's line available in 1/2 sizes. She chose the Multi Traction W boot with Event lining, Vibram Kommando soles, weighing 730 grams (manf spec)and have a rear welt for crampons. They are a stiff boot but there is some flex in the sole. We found the Grivel G14's fit the boot great. Hope this helps.

Bug
Thanks to all. She ended up getting Sportivas and she is working on a heel cup.
