wow, just wandered through Alpinfox's link there, searching for places below 40...

 

OK/AL/NC/TN/NM/GA!!

 

Some of those were desribing rays and pulses and coulours, not just glows.

 

TX even got a couple of reports of glows. That's like 30.48*N! blush.gif

Holy shit.

 

I saw a lot of aurora displays when I lived in Alaska that were brighter and more colorful than this one, but I have NEVER seen anything anywhere near that dynamic! Pulses, shimmers, dancing waves and curtains... The pulses would start in the north and quickly spread southward brightening up the curtains of pale green.
