swaterfall Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Has anyone ever fit their own thermofit liners? Can you just stick them in the oven and then crank your ski boots on really tight and get a good fit? What temp? Any mistakes you've made? Quote

iain Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I made a mistake on one pair where I accidently got a crease in the liner. You can reform them, but it gets worse each time. Be sure to have a beer around or something to read while you stand there in your kitchen for 15 minutes. Quote
cracked Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I got a fold in mine when I got the fitted by the 'pro' at Feathered Friends. The fold packed out and doesn't bother me anymore. Quote
cj001f Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I've had them fitted by pros and fitted them at home by myself. The pro job came out better. Quote
tomtom Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Yup. Yup. 375F I should have bought more pairs when they were $5 each. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 when i got mine fitted in t-ride they actually used one of those little toaster ovens. came out quite nice and toasty! if you're doing anything like t1's, after toasting put liner on foot (can use a toe spacer) and use tape wrapped around ankle area to close tongue, then insert into boot. the tape seemed to be a great trick! plumbbob Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Check out the fifth item down on this web site for a video on baking thermofit liners. http://www.telemarktips.com/DrTelemark.html Quote
Jedi Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Make sure to make a "toe cap" so the finished liner is not too tight on your toes. Jedi Quote
