Greg_W Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 Ozzfest arrives tomorrow!!!! Fuckin' RIGHT ON!!!!!! Quote
TBay Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 let us know how stoked you get when the Ozz-Man shows the images comparing Bush with Hitler during War Pigs, like he did at Jones Beach, NY last week. Quote

Greg_W Posted July 28, 2004 Author Posted July 28, 2004 Ozzfest ROCKED!!!! We skipped the Second Stage and showed for Black Label Society. Everyone on the Main Stage rocked out. Props to the kid in the wheelchair who was right down in the pit!!! My neck is sore...I'm old. Not as old as Rob Halford, who has as many wardrobe changes as Cher!!! Ozzy was pure electricity. It's so obvious that he was having the time of his life up there. No pics of Bush during War Pigs. Tony Iomi kills on guitar! Slayer stole the night, though. The energy was raging, only eclipsed by Ozzy. White River Amphitheater sucks. Never go there. They had zero traffic control after the concert, you can't bring in containers (full & sealed or empty), you can't take bottled water (that you purchased) out of the beer garden, and a cheeseburger w/fries and chicken strips w/fries and a large coke totalled to $23.75. rbw1966 Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 I saw Black Sabbath a couple years ago. If ever there were spokesmen for why large-screen monitors should NOT be placed in a stadium, these were the guys. Flaccid man-boobies somehow detracted from the ambience. Quote
assmonkey Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Sabbath, Slayer, Halford. Sounds like a killer show. I can't do those festival things though, too many gapers (I guess I'm elitist when it comes to rock shows). I saw Slayer a few times in the 80's at Pine St. Theatre and Starry Night in PDX. Remarkable shows. Slayer kicks ass. They just keep putting out better and better albums. I recently realized they are the only band I have consistently been listening to for TWENTY FUCKING YEARS. Not my favorite band, but the most consistent. - a s s m n k e y Quote
Greg_W Posted July 28, 2004 Author Posted July 28, 2004 assmonkey - we only showed up for the bands we wanted to see. I agree on the gape-o-thon action going on. Nothing like 30-something Microsofties bouncing out of the pit happy that they're alive. Quote
assmonkey Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Hah, I hear you there Greg_W, on ALL levels! The last time I was bouncing in the pit was at this guy's band's 25th anniversary: Oh yeah, Mudhoney opened. Killer show! Made me feel 23 again! - a s s m n k e y Quote
fenderfour Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 King Buzzo? Unfortunately most of the heavy shows in Seattle are all-ages. Talk about gapers... FYI - Soulfy is coming to town on August 5. They are playing the Graceland in Seattle. If you like the heavy stuff, you will definitely like Soulfly. Quote
